This old Pianoman says: I really love teaching music . . . Playing "by ear" has been my style, my business, my hobby - and it's been an absolute joy to have taught others to do the same. Older people excel because they have so many well known tunes locked away in their heads; Popular songs & the great Jazz standards from the 1940's and 50's through to the present day - where now, only the occasional "gem" catches one's ear and sticks in the mind.

Even children can do it easily.
And most of them aren't all that familiar with anything other than one or two nursery rhymes.

more than just Guitar & Piano here - ‹‹‹ What Instrument would You like to play? Still Want Piano Tabs ? Piano "Tablature" ... Some years ago I found a popular web site describing itself as "a great resource". Then it closed? Again ! What was the main pianotabs site on the net had not changed much since Aug 2003. It's now 2012 and I see it's become just another ho-hum adverts page. Song tabs? Seems that people asked - but few bothered to reply with actual song tabs (which is typical of such sites, from what I have seen over the years ... If I'm wrong you let me know!) Many of us players once used a now inoperative "Forum". Like countless others back then, I volunteered contributions, comments and put a lot of hours into responding to piano tab 'inquiries'. ALL of it WASTED! Yes, piano tabs are available - despite them being of doubtful value and just downloading them can obviously be risky. You may also find the the site operators not particularly interested in "maintaining the site" - so take note, they often just go "poof" and vanish again. You take care online, y'Hear me? Along with "goodies" you can pick up a few BADDIES too if you know what I mean ...
