Grand piano or Upright piano - there are many questions asked about which is the best piano - Yamaha or Kawai?
Sales people know full well that there's no way they can actually convince a buyer that either product is better or worse than the other. Quality products, fully Japanese made. Authentic Yamahas and Kawais from the two Great names.
With such dedicated Piano makers delivering well respected instruments and both competing for top billing,
the Truth is that for most Musicians, advanced Players and piano Buyers in general, these two Japanese products can't be separated.
And with either choice, built-in reliability is pretty much a foregone conclusion.
So - Mr/Ms confused piano buyer . . . there you have it.
To Messrs YAMAHA and KAWAI...
"Having played for more than half a century, I sincerely wish to compliment you
for the fine products you have given the world."
Yes folks, OzPianoman supports them both
Kawai and Yamaha equally !
For these same brands, certain Good USED models of recent vintage, have long had my vote as the most sensible way to go . . . But things Do change !
Upright Piano buyers . . . Ask me for example - about purchasing new, a Kawai K25 model and I'll tell you why it's a serious alternative to a 20 year old imported instrument.
SAVE $$$ - Same with Yamaha pianos... we have a bit of influence with certain Piano Industry members.

World's Best Piano? Update for MAY 2008...Bosendorfer (Boesendorfer) Pianos
With good reason, Australia's Piano Advisory is proud to have been asked to feature TWO Bosendorfer pianos among our selected instruments for Private Sale.
Limited distribution here in Australia, expensive and with ownership being a dream for most players, few owners ever willingly part with their prized Bosendorfer. Such instruments are justifiably among the most expensive pianos made and opportunities to purchase secondhand, either Upright or Grand, are rarely found. |
We have one of each for you to compare...
Deceased Estate : These fine pianos were both purchased New in the early 1980's for an older music teacher who tutored a handful of students. Some were permitted to use the upright model - the grand piano remained the teacher's alone to play.
Located in Adelaide, South Australia, the executor has provided some preliminary photographs for you to peruse and these may be seen at bosendorfer-piano-pics
According to a recent US price list, replacement value for the two now exceeds $150,000 AUD - see bluebookofpianos
You can however, purchase both pianos for less than one third of the combined new price, or offers for either instrument separately are invited from genuine piano buyers.
Further information, including price suggestions & contact details for the executor may be obtained from your OzPianoman - Colin on (03) 9783 6439
