ozpianoman video the PIANO VIDEO collection . . . free, funny, fascinating !

We've been providing piano information - and my Free Piano Advice, for years & years - both On and Offline.
On the Internet there are plenty of "freebies" to be found. When it comes to Free products or services however, don't be too surprised if what you get is worth about the same as what you paid.
Like the dinner at those 2 for 1 meal deals.
Sure - you got a free serve. But, you might ask yourself... "How good was it & who reaped the benefit ?"
A WARNING!
Among the many freebies found on the Internet is Music Tuition which, though at first appearing helpful, can produce such a Bland result that the player comes to believe it not worth continuing.

In most forms of endeavour one first needs guidance by someone who knows and cares; To be encouraged and hopefully to excell ... remaining sufficiently enthusiastic that something special might be accomplished.
Where "Free" Music Tuition is concerned - it's likely that in using the Internet you'll merely scratch the surface, investing your own precious time, only to discover later that it wasn't particularly 'good' at all ... just Free!

OzPianoman says . . .TO ALL PARENTS :
In no circumstances do I recommmend Online or Software based Music instruction for children - unless it supplements regular music tuition AND has the teacher's approval. The last thing you want is for your child to start learning to play an instrument . . . and then Stop!
With software there's "challenge" alright - but no actual supervision; No deadline present, no real direction available.
As it has a habit of doing, Time can pass quickly; The playing of keys gets deferred once or twice, in favor of other seemingly "more important" activities.
With that now diminished momentum, any potential is soon lost. In just a few short weeks a child inevitably comes to consider Music as something they 'used to do' . . . another activity or game they "don't want to play anymore".
And once Playing has ceased to be part of their regular routine, it's almost certain they will Never go back to it - during childhood, at least.
Kids do need to be kept involved, motivated and assisted by an experienced teacher.

Online tuition cannot supply that ! Nor can any software program...
Whilst easy enough to access and use, much of the free or cheap tuition offered may indeed deprive your
child of that unique insight into the development and shaping of their playing skills and musicianship.

Having said all that - if you're here for the "freebies", there's some software that we Do use... free piano software

PIANOMAN'S DISCOVERY...
The Piano Advisory had approached certain Software Developers - and seeking to install selected programs on our computers, we were given the opportunity to test and evaluate most "Music Lessons" courses they offered.

The ones we chose were already highly regarded, having previously earned high praise from other professionals and music educators (see testimonials at their sites)
We weren't fully convinced however, so ol' Pianoman went looking for problems, things to criticize, difficulties, shortcomings etc.
But wouldn't you know it?
Here at the Advisory, soon we too were suitably impressed
!
And now, all have the Pianoman's endorsement for being everything that the developers claim ... and more.

For those ready to learn there are lots of choices available! But this outstanding software range provides you with inexpensive music tuition, effective teaching methods; stimulating musical games; access to songs, sheet music, midi files.
Best of all - Music Theory was never more fun !!!

WHAT'S THE SECRET ?

It's all about INTERACTION - that's one place where such teaching CDs leave the freebies for dead! And these are "complete" courses. Not just a collection of samples intended to lead you to the paid stuff. It's responsible tuition and comprehensive too.
Expertly constructed lessons - beautifully presented and easy to follow; The programs are easily set up and simple to operate. Even grownups can do it.
Kids love such well designed presentations; The challenges, creative displays, the colorful and interesting activities.
There are humorous animations, cute lil characters who pop up and offer encouragement; Filmed sequences with expert tutors to provide guidance; some have actual Video footage of what it's supposed to look like; You even get to "perform" - and are promptly rewarded with a round of applause for your efforts!

FOR ADULTS TOO...
Adults might prefer to get down to more serious things...develop your sight reading skills and playing technique. Well so you can, with structured lessons representing up to two years of standard piano or keyboard tuition...plenty of well arranged songs to play

pianocoach You've heard perhaps that there's no substitute for "real" tuition from a "regular" teacher?
Whilst that's true (and the developers are quick to agree), such products as these have some extraordinary features.
The items displayed here meet with our approval and if you're determined to pursue computer based music tuition then they will cost you something equal to a few, or at most - a dozen lessons with a regular teaching professional
If you don't own a suitable keyboard instrument, in the Piano Suite "bundle" a fully compatible midi keyboard is included. In my opinion...it's Great value!
Should you already own such a keyboard then any of the software featured would satisfy most players needs.

Your OzPianoman & wife Christine - we're music teachers ( I even teach other Piano teachers.)

Fact is, I have few "isms" about today's software and modern tuition programs ...
Where any music pupil of mine already has access to such a program, I encourage them to Keep Using it as an aid to better understanding, to being more musically "involved" as they pursue their playing goals.

Yes, it's possible that software products like these could one day put Music Teachers out of business... but I seriously doubt that. And so for those interested in "self teach" programs, your OzPianoman is pleased to recommend the products shown here. All are quite exceptional quality, totally affordable and fun to own. The Piano Advisory congratulates the companies producing them and invites visitors to examine these products in more detail.

Product availability changes from time to time but you might like to try some online stores handling the software titles tested by us. Compare their prices for the products we've recommended ...You might also check their catalogues for alternative programs enjoyed by music students, young and old alike.
